What is the Empire Athletics Foundation?

The Empire Athletics Foundation will be the first step towards allowing all children who have an interest in sports to have the opportunity to participate. Through fundraising, we hope to be able to lower existing prices, as well as set up scholarship opportunities for children, specifically to minorities who may not have had the opportunity to wear an Empire jersey. We understand  that COVID-19 has caused financial hardships for many, Empire included. During this time, it has been our goal to provide quality, free, instruction to our athletes.  In doing so, we hope we are providing structure, normalcy, and a sense of connection to all of our athletes.

Why?

As we continue to try and navigate these tough times of uncertainty, we, as a company, have had an opportunity to take a step back and reflect on our overall goals here at Empire Youth Athletics. Empire’s mission is to mold the future generation into hard-working, coachable individuals by providing high quality coaching and training experiences for our athletes. We also aim to teach our athletes lessons that will extend well beyond the court and/or athletic field.

As we are relatively new to the youth sports world, we are always learning. One thing that has become evident to us, even before the pandemic hit and before social inequalities have been brought to the forefront, is that youth sports are no longer accessible to everyone that wants to play and improve. The continuously rising cost for tournaments, uniforms, gym space, and quality coaching inevitably leaves behind some children whose families may not be able to pay the required fees. With that being said, we are proud to announce the creation of our nonprofit, charitable organization: Empire Athletics Foundation.
